Residential Development
A highly constrained city centre site at the heart of a conservation area with proximity to registered heritage assets is the setting for this development. Comprising three distinctly different elements: 13 new construction townhomes, 2 units in a refurbished chapel and a row of 3 cottage townhomes, this scheme was a real test fo the planning approvals process, undergoing several subsequent applications and variations to its original 2009 approval.
Whilst the construction generally is fairly traditional, the level of coordination required to satisfy the conditions of the approvals and the works on site were extensive. Every single time that is present eternally on the site (even as small as the specific brick coursing location of ventilation fan extracts and domestic boiler flues) was subject to approval by the Local Authority.
