Surgery Redevelopment
This tricky town center redevelopment aims to take a disjointed existing property, that already included several additions, and strip it back to build multistory new construction off of the existing footprint.
This presented a particular challenge due to the sheer volume of new floorspace required to make the scheme viable, given that funding regulations also required very specific space sizes for each area of the surgery.
Furthermore the existing access to the property was via a somewhat concealed side passage that provided no external nor internal way-finding, thus part fo the scheme involved moving the building access to provide a new central atrium. The site sits in the middle of a conservation area surrounded by registered heritage properties adding another level of consideration in the planning process.
